Garden Route Getaways (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), registration number 2024/196658/07, is the responsible party for personal information processed through this website, in terms of South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy applies to visitors, account holders, and Guests who make a booking with us.
We collect information you give us directly — such as your name, email address, phone number, and payment details when you create an account or make a booking — and information collected automatically, such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
We use your information to process and manage bookings, communicate with you about a stay, provide customer support, improve the Platform, and meet legal or accounting obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
We process your personal information because it is necessary to perform a booking contract with you, to comply with a legal obligation (such as tax record-keeping), because you have given consent (for example, to receive marketing emails), or because we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving the Platform that does not override your rights.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil a booking, meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encrypted connections and access controls — to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and disclosure. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to also take care to protect your own account credentials.

This Platform is not directed at children, and bookings may only be made by adults. Where a child's personal information is provided as part of a booking (for example, the number and ages of children travelling), it is processed only for the purpose of arranging suitable accommodation.
Some of our service providers (for example, payment processing or email delivery) may process data outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to a comparable standard of protection, as required by POPIA.
